ECHODRAMA Cultural Group was founded in 2006. It is a civil non-profit company with a long experience in creating and presenting dance and music-dance performances in Greece and abroad. These performances promote contemporary culture, are inspired by Greek history and tradition and are presented with contemporary means (contemporary dance, contemporary music compositions, contemporary audiovisual means, digital projections). ECHODRAMA has created several remarkable productions, such as "RHEI - EVERYTHING FLOWS" (inspired by Heraclitus' concept of perpetual movement), "THE CAVE" (a contemporary look at the cave allegory of Plato’s "Republic"), “APOLLO-AMATERASU: TRACING SUN” (under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in Greece), “MEMORIES OF OLYMPIA” and “THE MURDERESS” (based on Alexandros Papadiamandis’ novel). The members of ECHODRAMA have collaborated with Amnesty International, the Red Cross and the Opera of Dusseldorf.

These performances are multi-shows with music, songs, dance, narration and projections of digital images. The music is original, created by music composer Yannis Pisimisis, who has lived and worked in the U.S.A. for many years and has composed music for documentaries and stage productions in the U.S.A., as well as music-dance performances in Greece. The music is performed with traditional and modern electronic instruments. The dance is contemporary with neoclassical elements and performed by professional dancers of classical education. The music compositions and the choreographies draw elements from tradition and from contemporary trends in music and dance.

These productions premiered a few years ago, “THE MURDERESS” at Katia Dandoulaki Theatre in Athens, “MEMORIES OF OLYMPIA” at Halandri Arts Centre, “APOLLO-AMATERASU: TRACING SUN” at Halandri Arts Centre (attended by the Cultural Attache of the Embassy of Japan in Greece), "THE CAVE" and "RHEI - EVERYTHNG FLOWS" at Michael Cacoyannis Foundation theatre. They received a very good response by the Press and they have toured at many municipal cultural festivals all over Greece (Skiathos, Tinos, Mykonos, Cephalonia, Mytilene, Molyvos, Paros, Edipsos, Nea Philadelphia, Amarousio, Pefki, Holargos, Halandri, Vrilissia, Daphni, Hydra, Kythira, Poros). They were also presented to more than 30 schools at theatres in Athens. “APOLLO-AMATERASU: TRACING SUN” was also performed at the European Cultural Centre of Delphi, attended by the Ambassador of Japan in Greece.

In 2011, the “Year of Papadiamandis” (100 years since his death), honouring the memory of this great Greek author, ECHODRAMA Cultural Group presented “The Murderess” to Greek communities in 10 cities in Germany (München, Frankfurt, Mannheim, Weinheim, Nürnberg, Düsseldorf, Bielefeld, Dortmund, Hannover and Stuttgart), to 21 Greek schools in these cities and to the Greek-German associations of Weinheim, Frankfurt, Gütersloh and Düsseldorf, from September 25 until October 16, 2011. There were supertitles in German for a better understanding of this performance by the German-speaking audience. There were a total of 18 performances, which educated and at the same time entertained the students of the Greek schools in Germany and the Greeks living in Germany in general.

The music compositions and the choreographies, accompanied by narration and video projections, are integral parts of an organic whole. This total experience is our artistic vision.
